Obituary: Buda Plain Dealer; Bureau Co., Illinois  Obituary  John P. Johnson, eldest sen of Shepard & Nancy Johnson was born near Vanceburg, Lewis county, Kentucky, Aug-21-1840 and passed to the other shore Sept-28-1915 aged 75 Years 1 month 7 days.    He was united in marriage with Miss Mary H. Faux in Canton, Illinois Dec-13-1866. Seven children were born of this union, namely: Frank E. of Galesburg, Nellie M. of  Brimfield, John Henry of Buda, Grace F. Riley of Mineral, Eva L. Crandall of Belvidere, Clyde K. Reiehardt of Buda, Bertha L. Seble of Buda, all of whom are living to console the loving wife and mother. He also leaves nineteen grandchildren, two great grandchildren, one grandchild died nine years ago.    He leaves three sisters amd two brothers, Mrs Mary Krieschke, Mrs Alice Brandt and William Johnson of Canton, Ill., Mrs Lettie Dearmend of Cherokee, Oklahoma and Andrew Johnson of Lyons, Kansas.    Mr Johnson was well known in business circles in Canton, Brimfield and Buda. He made many friends and had good word for everybody.    He enlisted in the service in the Civil War from Canton, Aug-21-1861 his 21th birthday. He was in Co. K 7th Ill. Cal. He served until the end of the war.    His death resulted from a fall in his meat market, the blow on the temple causing concussion of the brain.    The funeral was held at the Methodist church Thursday afternoon, Rev. Gordon conducting the service. The music was by the Methodist choir. The Grand Army and Relief Corps attended and the pall bearers were comrades of the GAR.    Relatives and friends from out of town were Mr & Mrs F.E. Johnson of Galesburg, Mr & Mrs E.E. K Seventh Illinois Cavalry- served till end of war.

Obituary: Buda Plain Dealer; Bureau Co., Illinois  Mrs Mary H. Johnson of Belvidere, mother of Frank and Henry Johnson, passed away Thursday at the home of her daughter, Mrs Harold Sebel in Belvidere. A short service was held Saturday morning at the Byram & Atkins funeral chapel in Belvidere after which the body was brought here for burial. Funeral services were held in the Methodist church. Rev. F.D. Menze pastor of the church in charge. The singing was by Mrs F.R. Stratton, Mrs Stuart Arnold and Mrs O.J. Litwiller, with Mrs C.S. Conley accompaying on the piano. The six pallbearers were all grandsons of the deceased. Interment was in Hopeland cemetary.    Mrs Johnson was born in Morning Sun, Iowa Dec-13-1846, died July-30-1936 aged 89 years 7 months 17 days. She was married to John P. Johnson at Canton, Ill. Dec-13 1866. Her husband died in 1915. She came to Buda in 1891 and lived here until 1916 when she moved to Belvidere, soon after the death of her husband where she has since resided.    Sons and daughters who survive her; Frank and Henry Johnson of Buda, Mrs Grace Riley, Sheffield, Mrs Clyde Reichardt, Tiskilwa, Mrs Nellie Hamilton, Elmira, New York, Mrs Evalena Crandall of Pasedena, Cal. All her children present at the funeral except Mrs Hamilton and Mrs Crandall.

Bearers were the six grandsons, Arthur and Earl J., Harold and Everett J. and Ward Riley and brother. Burial was in Highland cemetery."

Died: 24 NOV 1942 in Bureau Co., Illinois  Funeral services for Frank E. Johnson were held at the Methodist church last Tuesday afternoon preceded by a short service at the home with Rev. R.C. Myers, pastor in charge. Mr & Mrs F. R. Stratton sang and Miss Mable Turner was accompanist. Bearers were B.F. Carper, Frank Carper, P.T. Carper, H.B. Arms, S.F. Haley and L.C. Stutzman. Interment was in Hopeland cemetary, west of town. Frank Edmund Johnson son of John P. and Mary Fox Johnson was born in Canton, Ill. Dec-14-1867. He attended schools of that city and learned after attaining manhood, the cigar trade. He later went to Brimfield and over fifty years ago came to Buda to live. He was a partner with his brother Henry, in a grocery and meat market for many years, retiring about two years ago. He was married to Mrs. Berry of Neponset who survives. There are also three children by a former marriage, Arthur Johnson, Chillicothe, Earl of Pekin and Mrs Ruth Church of Pekin. Five sisters, Mrs Nellie Hamilton, Rochester, New York; Mrs Grace Riley Annawan; Mrs Eva Crandall, Los Angelos, Cal; Mrs Clyde Reichardt Tiskilwa and Mrs Bertha Seible, Belvidere; His only brother, Henry of this place, and step son-George Berry of Galesburg. There are eight grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. Mr Johnson has been ill with heart trouble for some time but his passing was rather unexpected. Died: 29 OCT 1964 in Bureau Co., Illinois  John Henry Johnson 92, Buda, passed away Sunday afternoon in the Perry Memorial hospital, Princeton, where he had a patient several weeks.    Mr Johnson was born Sept 28, 1872 at Canton, Ill., the son of John and Mary Fox Johnson. On 1894 he married Ethel Maude Stone at Neponset. He was a retired meat market operator.    Surviving are two sons, Evert Johnson of Paorla and Harold F. Johnson of Buda: two daughters, Mrs DeWayne (Mildred) Wilkins, Buda: Mrs Gordon (Bonnie) Haley of Eureka; 10 grandchildren: three sisters, Mrs Mary Evelyn Grandall, Pasadena, Cal: Mrs Bertha Seible, Port Orange, Florida: Mrs Frank Reichart, Tiskilwa, nieces and nephews. He was Preceded in death by his parents, wife, one son, one daughter and one grandson. Funeral services were Wednesday at 1:30 pm at the Taylor Memorial Chapel, Buda with the Rev. Richard Denmark, pastor of Buda Methodist church officating. Interment was in Buda Hopeland cemetery.  Bureau County Republican Oct-29-1964
